🍂 National Trust Collab

🌿 My Take: Cyanotype in the Autumn Light
To embody the theme of seasonal crafting, I created a cyanotype-printed tote bag using the last of the autumn sun and foraged leaves gathered on a slow walk through Claremont Landscape Garden and Esher Commons.
The cyanotype process, a Victorian photographic technique that uses sunlight to create prints with natural materials. After exposing the tote bag to sunlight with the leaves arranged on top, I then tea-toned the fabric, transforming the cyanotype’s classic blue into rich autumnal browns.
The video blended forest-foraging footage, process shots, and voiceover, framed in a soft, warm “cottagecore” aesthetic. The result was meditative, tactile, and totally DIY, a calm call to action that encouraged people to step outside and make something with the season.
🗣️ Voiceover Excerpt
“You never know what gifts you’re going to be given by the plants…
But at this time of year, it’s the trees that are my muse.”
“This whole process is super easy and anyone can do it at home.
It’s a great way to engage with the outdoors - and let nature inspire your creativity.”
💬 What I loved about this campaign
This was a collaboration where the values aligned beautifully: sustainability, accessibility, and the joy of noticing the world around us. The creative brief gave me space to be myself and connect with my audience in an honest and gentle way. And it was a joy to turn a walk in the woods into something lasting and handmade.
“Crafting in nature is one of my favourite forms of mindfulness — and getting to share that with a wider audience through this campaign felt genuinely meaningful.”
