My grandmother the illustrator

About Jennifer Bow
I’m so proud to share the work of my grandmother, Jennifer Bow. Her art means the world to me — I’m always commissioning her to create portraits for friends and family, from children to beloved pets. I truly believe the rest of the world would benefit from having some of her beautiful, heartfelt illustrations in their lives. Supporting her work is my way of celebrating her talent and helping her continue doing what she loves.

Jennifer’s creative journey spans two continents. Originally from the UK, she spent many years living in South Africa — first in Johannesburg, then along the stunning south coast of KwaZulu-Natal, before settling in Cape Town.

Each place deeply influenced her work, from vibrant city scenes to breathtaking coastal landscapes. While in Fish Hoek, near Cape Town, she became known for her beautiful sailing-inspired collages and evocative illustrations that capture the spirit of the sea and local life.

Six years ago, Jennifer returned to the UK and now lives in the picturesque Cotswolds, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Here, she draws inspiration from rolling countryside, charming villages, and local wildlife — including playful pigs, badgers, foxes, and foxes — creating artwork that celebrates the region’s tranquil and timeless atmosphere.

Jennifer also offers custom commissions — from delightful portraits of children and pets to whimsical pieces infused with astrological elements tied to star signs. Every commission is a unique keepsake, crafted with love and care.
By supporting Jennifer Bow’s art, you’re helping an independent artist and grandmother continue to share her passion and bring joy through her captivating illustrations.
