Paid to make content, on how to make content, for content creators

In 2024, I was invited by Meta to be one of a small group of creators selected to take part in a pilot programme designed to develop content creation skills within the creator community.
As part of the programme, I was paid to create educational content about how to make content for other content creators. Working alongside creators from the UK, France and the US, we produced a series of short-form educational videos covering different aspects of the content creation process, as well as taking part in training, real-life events and opportunities to connect with creators around the world.
I particularly enjoyed the challenge of taking what I had learned through years of making content and communicating it in a way that was useful, practical and engaging for other creators. It gave me the opportunity to think carefully about the skills, tools and creative processes involved in making effective content - and how to explain those things succinctly.
Being selected for the programme was a significant recognition of my experience as a content creator, while also giving me a fascinating insight into how platforms themselves think about supporting and developing the creator community.
The content was shared in a private group. These were the titles of the Reels.
