What to expect

Botanical Cyanotype Art Print in Historic Kingston. Get creative with plants in the ancient market town of Kingston Upon Thames, home of 7 Saxon Kings. Discover cyanotype printing using pressed flowers to make beautiful blue prints inspired by nature.

Taking inspiration from the teachings of botanist and author Robin Wall Kimmerer, this workshop is an invitation to slow down, pay attention to the natural world and think about our relationship with the plants and materials around us.

You'll be able to experiment with an eclectic collection of flowers, leaves, lace, stencils, photographic negatives and other interesting objects to create your own compositions. You don't need to be "good at art" — there are no rules and no previous experience is necessary. Cyanotype is a wonderfully accessible, DIY process, and part of the magic is seeing how your ideas transform when they're exposed to light.

  • All materials and equipment provided
  • Your own selection of flowers, lace, stencils and other objects to experiment with
  • The opportunity to create three postcard-sized cyanotype prints
  • Guidance and demonstrations throughout
  • Three unique prints to take home
  • A chance to slow down, get creative and reconnect with nature
